Highlighting issues
Reported by Daniel Peebles | April 27th, 2008 @ 10:52 PM | in 1.2.2
My nick is currently pumpkin|zzz and whenever anyone says anything containing zzz, I get highlighted. It looks like the nick is getting stuck into a regex unsanitized, and the pipe symbol is saying "match either pumpkin or zzz".

I can also do other fun stuff (limited unfortunately by the irc server's nick constraints) like set my nick to [a-zA-Z]umpkin, and get the expected regex behavior.

Yeah, that's why the preference pane says "You can also use full blown regexps3... But I can see why this is not a good idea. Removing it :)

I actually like the regexes for the highlights I explicitly put into the highlight list, but I don't think my current nick should have that kind of highlighting behavior, as escaping isn't really possible with nicks :P
